Fine conditions for Queen’s funeral as temperatures rise

According to the Met Office London will see a daytime high of 18C while Windsor, where the monarch will be laid to rest, will also see a daytime high of 18C. It is likely to be cloudy throughout the day in the capital but only a 10 percent chance of rain.

It will be 14C when the royal state funeral begins at 11am with temperatures rising later in the afternoon with similar conditions in Windsor.

From around noon to 3pm the royal fans in the capital are likely to experience sunny intervals with light winds.

However from 4pm it will start to become more cloudy although by that time the Queen’s coffin will have reached Windsor.

However according to Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan it will be a cool start to Monday in some areas, particularly in northern Scotland where temperatures could drop to 1 or 2C meaning they could see some frost.

He said: “There will be some clearing skies for many places as we go into the early hours of Monday.

“That will allow temperatures to dip quite low in some more rural parts of south west England.

“Also in northern Scotland, we could see temperatures dip down to one or twoelsius and that’s low enough to get a touch of frost, but under the cloud stay milder with temperatures more like 9 to 10.

“Monday sees quite a lot of cloud across the UK in general.

“Monday evening will continue rather cloudy for the majority of the UK.

“Still one or two showers across south west England, Wales and up the western side of Scotland and northwest England.

“But otherwise some dry weather to end the day and some clear skies lasting into the overnight hours.”
